Questions

1. What interests you about this project?

2. What do you want to learn by doing this project?

3. What questions do you have about this project?

4. What do you personally want to have achieved by the end of this project?

Answers

1.  Im interested in the practical applications of physics in this project. Im also interested to see what happens if we fail to build a good enough balsa wood model as that is a form of motivation for me.

2.I want to learn how practical physics is different from theoretical physics.

3. Is this what real physicists do?

4. I personally just want to get a working balsa wood model that is above average standard

Day 1
Questions
1. What are your key learning points?
2. What questions about the topic?
Answers
  1. Geology: I learned how to find out when and how intense previous earthquakes were. I also learned the importance about finding out about previous earthquakes to see the patterns and such.
IT: I learned that animation is story in pictures. I also learned about 2D animation and 3D animations and the ups and downs about them. I realized the importance of math in making softwares. Most of all I realized that everybody can be an inventor and to start small.
Nanotechnology: I learned that nano tech is using making something into smaller parts so the surface area is bigger and that gives it more “power”.
2. Geology: What are the ways we can prevent earthquakes or is it inevitable?

IT: In what kind of ways can we start small?

Nanotechnology: How does more surface area make more “power”?

Day 2
Questions
  1. Discuss how the project has deepened your understanding and broadened your awareness of the selected discipline.
  1. Discuss what you understand now about this discipline that you were unaware of at the beginning.
  1. Describe how you can connect what you have learned from doing this project to what you are learning in school.
  1. Describe how you can apply what you have learned from doing this project.
  1. The end of the project, some new questions I have include..
Answers
1&2. It deepened my understanding of how much the design matters as previously I thought that the main factor was just the amount of material and type of material.
3&4.I can benefit from this in my ADMT and I&E as in ADMT I will know how to make a studier model if I have to make a model of something. In I&E it will save costs in a business if the material is not as good but the design makes up for it.
  1. If this was a test in the class what other factors would be counted other than how much weight it could withstand? How detailed would a project like this have to be if it was a real assignment in a university(does it test stuff like wind load and natural disaster resistance)?
